Connie's Piano Songs is an album of Connie Converse's never-before-heard art songs for piano and voice, left behind in manuscript format at the time of her disappearance. The album features original songs, settings of poems by e.e.cummings, Dylan Thomas, A.E. Housman and T.S. Eliot, and Connie Converse's last known musical compositions: an ambitious suite of songs called "The Cassandra Cycle."
Connie's Piano Songs features the recording debuts of soprano Charlotte Mundy and pianist Christopher Goddard. The physical CD includes a 20 page booklet, with complete lyrics, and a long-form essay by Howard Fishman on Converse's life and music.
This album also includes the only known recording of Converse herself singing with her own piano accompaniment, on the final track included here, her own "Vanity of Vanities," recorded in 1956

I believe I passed through Lonesome years ago when I lived in DC. It's nice to have Connie show me around again. Rock Creek listened to my grief through to summer that year. That winter a beaver swam under the creek's ice amongst the fallen leaves swept by currents. Susan was there, she'll tell you. roycapps
